RealeSeller Version 3.5 Released...

At long last, RealeSeller version 3.5 was released last month and it was downloaded at record rates. We had been slaving over that hot update for months. The 3.5 release was the first time in a very long time that we hadn't posted an update at least once every other month. Most of the time we post improvements nearly every month. The 3.5 changes were so dramatic that it took a lot longer than we anticipated. We never stop our development. Actually most of September and part of August had been devoted to documenting all the updates and changes. The help file in our opinion is all important to a successful piece of software. Even at that, we know that many people simply don't want to read in order to learn. And, for those who need and/or want it, we are offering FREE classes that take you step-by-step through each area of RealeSeller.

The Local MLS is not Dying... or The Emperor's New Clothes.

I had a phone conversation with a guy in Texas a few months ago, he was calling because he wanted more information about our CRM system, RealeSeller. As is very common, our conversation moved on to other things real estate related. I mentioned that I didn't think it would be much longer and some sort of national MLS system would be out there. His informed response was something like "no way, there are different laws in the various states that allow or restrict the data..." and on and on. After all that, he then had to mention his many accomplishments in the real estate world, the various high placed positions he has held and is now holding, both local and national. All this so he could "prove" that he knew more about it than me or anyone else.

Make your own virtual tour videos for FREE!

I found a really nice piece of software way back in August 2005 and it is perfect for "do it yourself" real estate agents. It's called Microsoft Photo Story 3. The program is really awesome and you will not believe what you can do with a few pictures in just a couple of minutes. This program works as well today as it did 4 years ago. I use it all the time. The only catch is you have to verify that your version of Windows is legal. Once you pass the test you can get the program for free.

How to update your old Outlook database to the new format

One of the main reasons you may want to do this is there are a number of differences between the old style Outlook database (pre 2003) and the latest version, but one of the biggest differences is the increase in the ability to store more data, 20 gigabytes vs. 2 gigabytes. There are some other new internal features, but to most users they aren't anything significant or noticeable. So, here is how you upgrade to the newest database format.

Microsoft Office 2010 - A First Look

If you haven't seen anything about Office 2010 yet, that's because there isn't much out there about it. But, back on May 15, 2009 I attended a meeting about the upcoming release of Windows 7 and there was also some discussion about the release of Office 2010 either late this year, or sometime in the first half of 2010. At the meeting, it seemed that sometime in 2010 was most likely and nothing I've heard makes me think that Office 2010 will be released before years end.

Microsoft Security Essentials - A spin-off from Windows Live OneCare

While OneCare is going to be around a while, taking care of those that bought subscriptions until the subscriptions expire, Microsoft announced something to take the place of the security scanning part of OneCare... they call it Microsoft Security Essentials (code name Morro). It is currently in Beta test and you can't join as of this writing. But, you can download it and I will provide a link further down so you can try it out yourself.
