Basic Flyer Text Editing Features
(See the section on "Getting Started" before reading this section.)
Text Editing Section: Using the image below as a guide, you can
see there are several things about the text that you can control using the
various selection abilities of this feature. The text bar across the top
of this area allows you to change every aspect of the text, the font, font size,
Bold, Italic, Underline, and how it is justified. The below image is just
a sample of one template and each one can be significantly different depending
on the design.

The Text Editing Bar
Choosing a font: Click the font
selector (1) to display a list of fonts. The font list not only displays
the name of the font, but an example of the font. This makes choosing a
font a lot easier (see sample image on right).

At this time take note of the image above. Next to several items on the
Flyer Creator you will notice some
symbols.
Sometimes when you are editing things they will turn from
(7) to
(8). Many items noted like this are not changed until you press the yellow
symbol. In the example
above, the Room Sizes text has had some adjustment made to it and the
symbol is now yellow. As soon as you press the yellow
symbol
the current flyer will be updated.
Editing The Text:
Using the example below, you select the Flyer Title Primary item from the
first list. The text in the box below the list says: "WOW! Just Like
New! Shows Like A Model!" You can replace any or all of the text in
this box. If you noticed the small button with the arrow pointing to the
right just to the right of the text box containing your primary title, click it.
By the way, there is a complete list of titles for the text at the
bottom of this page. Unless you press the
Page Refresh
Button you can change any text currently displayed by any of your
selections.

You should see a view similar to this:

There are a lot of short titles you can use in this list. You can pick one
(single left mouse click), change or modify it, or just write one of your own
that fits the property. If you decide not to use one of the titles just
press the arrow button again and it will close. Once you have edited the
text, the will turn yellow. Press the
to update the
flyer with your changes. Currently there isn't an "undo" feature, but we
are working on it. Any of these text items can be modified with the
Text
Editing Bar as described above. To see any changes you make, you have to press
the to update the flyer.
Agent Phone Numbers Text: These items are separate from other text
because there are usually multiple items. All editing works exactly the
same as the above descriptions.
Editing Features, Room Sizes, Bullet Points:

In the Properties folder you
can input data for Features (1), Room
Sizes (2), and Bullet Points
(3). Each of these items is on a separate
tab on the Details tab for
each property. While you could actually input the data in the above text
boxes when they are selected, that data would be lost once you close the Flyer
Creator window. To select their use, choose on of the item from the drop
down list, Features for instance. Now put a check in the Features
checkbox. The data that relates to the features will appear in the lower
text box so you can edit it if you want to. When you add the data the
symbol will
change to yellow
which
simply indicates the data is new and can be added to the current flyer.
Because many of the sections the flyer has available can only hold a certain
number of separate lines, you can limit the items you want added to this text
section by putting a check in front of the item to use in the appropriate
section on the Properties Details tab and then putting a check in the Checked
Items (6) box in one of the above selection items.
Because of the nature of HTML templates, text does not wrap to the next line to
the right of the text, it just continues to move down. This can cause the
page to spill over to a second page and will ruin the look of your flyer.
So, try and keep an eye on your flyer as you add text. Remove a line or
two if they start to push the page off the bottom of the flyer displayed to the
right of these text editor features.
The flyer you are looking at is a real time view of what you will see when you
print the flyer. There are times when the display isn't perfect, but that
is pretty rare. Some templates have an area to display one, two, or all
three of these text items at once. Many only allow one of them so you have
to be observant when looking at the added text and what it does to the flyer.
Editing The Property Narrative Text:
The Property Narrative is a short description of the property in the flyer.
You don't have a checkbox for this feature. Simply select it from the drop
down list. The narrative is simply a single paragraph that should do as
much as possible to sum up the most positive aspects of the property.
Remember, people aren't usually looking for a house, they are looking for a
home. Big difference between those two words. As with the feature
lists above, this text can be edited with the
Advanced Text Editor
feature. The advanced editor will allow you to insert text that has had
many fancy features added to it. In some flyer's it makes a big
difference, in others it isn't necessary. Always be careful not to have
too many colors or lots and lots of fancy text features. Too much of
anything will spoil the look you are after. Go for "Snappy" and not
"Cluttered" ... When you have finished editing don't forget to press the
symbol to
update your flyer.
Tip:
There is a very advanced editing feature (5)
you can use to edit any data in the text boxes. It isn't discussed in
detail in this
section because it has its own section. Simply put, it is a text editor
that converts text into HTML code and inserts it back into this editing box.
While you can insert HTML codes in this text box to make this text look any way
you want it to, most people don't know how to write HTML code so the advanced
editing feature does it for you. You can read all about the
Advanced Text Editor here.
